Vintage Singer Model 99 Sewing Machine – 1951

With Wooden Cover, Original Manual, Key & Accessories

This beautiful Singer Model 99 sewing machine dates to 1951 and is another wonderful example of the quality and craftsmanship that made these vintage Singer machines so beloved.

Bearing serial number EG402265, this machine belongs to a production allotment dated March 15, 1951. It was part of a production lot of 20,000 Model 99 machines manufactured at Singer's famous Kilbowie factory in Clydebank, Scotland.

The Singer 99 was the compact, three-quarter-size relative of the full-size Singer 66. Its smaller proportions made it easier to transport and store while still offering the sturdy construction and straightforward mechanical operation for which Singer machines became famous.

What makes this particular machine especially lovely is how complete it remains more than 75 years later.

It comes with its original manual and accessories, as well as the key—a small detail that is so often lost over the years. The machine also has a beautiful wooden protective cover, transforming it into a particularly handsome piece when not in use.
