This popular Vogue jacket pattern 8430 is designed by American fashion designer Marcy Tilton. The unique, trendy style features fronts turned back to form lapels, long sleeves, dropped shoulders and an uneven hemline (back is longer than front at sides). The very loose-fitting, unlined jacket can be made below waist or hip length. It is made from felted wool fabric, and instructions are including for felting fabrics such as wool jersey or wool flannel. You might want to read the instructions before purchasing fabric in order to get the right amount.

Also there is instruction for needle felting a decorative design on the jacket as shown on View B. This is different from felting the fabric itself and involves incorporating wool roving or yarn into the base fabric using a hand needle felting tool, or if available a sewing machine needle felting attachment. It is easy I promise!

The jacket construction is rated "easy," suitable even for beginning seamstresses. Published in 2007, this style is still wonderfully current and comfortable looking. Marcy Tilton, currently of Southwest Oregon, is well known for her originality as well as practical wearability. If you love wearable art, this is the designer for you!

Pattern is available in size OSZ which includes sizes S-XL (8-22) for adult women. It is in uncut, like-new condition.
